Excursions/Remote Learning Survey 2020
I’m emailing today as we need your input on two important topics to assist in our future planning. We hope you can assist us by completing some questions at the bottom on the follow two topics:
1. Remote Learning- If we have to return to remote learning due to an escalation in Covid 19 cases in this area we need to know if you have devices to support learning at home. As you know, we discovered that our mini iPads are getting old and we couldn’t access MS Teams or the full version of See Saw. This limited the delivery of our remote mode of learning.
2. Excursions are usually the highlight of the school year for many students, but 2020 is a different year. We are starting to do some planning for our excursions and in particular the Year 4/5/6 excursion to Sydney. This excursion focuses on Colonial Australia and is centred around The Rocks and Sydney Harbour. We have shifted the three day excursion to mid- November thinking that the Covid 19 emergency would be over. But with ‘hotspots’ occurring in random locations across the country, we need to know if we need to rethink this before deposits cannot be recovered.
3. Ms Buckmaster is hoping to take K/1 to Junee to the Licorice Factory in Term 4 and Yr 2/3’s excursion is still to be decided, but would also be in Term 4 and possibly include a day trip to Wagga or Canberra. If parents would prefer we stay very close to home we need to know now before we incur any costs.
Thank you for replying to these quick questions. It’s really helpful to have your input and using Schoolszine is just so convenient. We hope you think so too. If you want to discuss any of these questions below in further detail please contact the school.

Year 2/3 Teacher Appointment
I am pleased to inform all parents of Year 2/3 students that Ms Megan Gould will be replacing Ms Courtnee Leigh as the Year 2/3 classroom teacher from this Thursday. She will be visiting St Mary’s this Wednesday to meet students and staff who are on site.
Ms Gould is currently on leave from Franklin Primary School, Tumut, as she was travelling overseas. COVID 19 brought her back to Australia in March and she has self-isolated. Ms Gould will be full time with the class until the end of this year.
We have been very grateful to Ms Pribilovics for being available in the interim and maintaining smooth routines. I extend a big congratulations to the students in Year 2/3 who have adapted to many changes this year with teachers and also remote learning. It has been a credit to their resilience and positive outlook.
