- QUOTE OF THE WEEK
Welcome back! We hope that you have all had a wonderful break and been able to enjoy some quality family time. It was lovely to see students smiling faces again this morning. After chatting with the students today it sounds like there was a range of fun activities happening over the last two weeks and families were out and about enjoying our region.
Staff returned to school yesterday and were participants in a video conference on Challenging Learning. The main focus was on the nature and importance of feedback and how selecting the right language can support students to grow in their learning further. It was a dedicated day in professional conversation.
Sport uniform is required for Mondays and Fridays again this term and students should be wearing their summer school uniform Tuesdays to Thursdays. School photographs are scheduled next week for Thursday 22 October. Please contact the office if you need to check on your payment to the School Photographer, prior to the day.
Next Tuesday all students are encouraged to wear ‘Crazy socks’ to school as part of the ‘Sock it to Poverty’ fundraiser for Catholic Missions. This is held every year and we appreciate your support via a gold coin donation.
Coming up in November we will welcome the Kinder 2021 students as they commence transition into 'Big School'. Once again these will be held every Wednesday. Our enrolments are also open to any grade level and interested parents only need to make a call to the front office for further information. Please share the message around.
Have a lovely week everyone.
Jannine
Welcome back to Term 4. October and May are the traditional months in the Catholic Church in which the Rosary is highlighted. The Rosary is a prayer in which we meditate on the life of Jesus and His mother Mary.
This week classes will pray a decade of the rosary.
Mission Day Liturgy will be held next Tuesday 20th October at 12.30pm.
SUNDAY 25th OCTOBER AT 8.30am.
Any students and their families are welcome to come along and join teachers in presenting the readings. Please let Mrs Richards know if you intend coming so she can allocate jobs.
STAFF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Staff had a busy day yesterday with educational guru James Nottingham, discussing the importance of feedback and learning intentions to improve student achievements. A key take away from yesterday's professional development was: 'feedback is good advice that is well-used to deepen learning and improve application'.
