Dear Parents and Carers,
On my way to Batlow each morning I drive past many familiar cars and give a wave. I also pass the school bus and wave to Gary the driver. I often spot some of our ex students on the bus as well. They often wave back and give me a smile which is really lovely and I’m very proud to see how they are growing into young adults. Leaving St Mary’s to attend secondary school often means a dedicated daily commute by bus and it is a big step. Most of our students move onto McAuley Catholic Central School, the main pathway for our students in Catholic Education. Our Year 6 students Caleb, Jade, Catriona and Isabelle will soon be attending transition days at McAuley so they can meet some new classmates and some of the teachers. We wish them an exciting day next Wednesday and look forward to hearing all about it. They will attend another session later in the year.
Our enrolment period for 2021 has begun. I’ve been taking loads of photos so that we have a selection to showcase all the wonderful things we have been doing at St Mary’s. We will be rolling out promotional advertisements over the next several weeks to encourage new Kindergarten 2021 enrolments to get on our records to assist future planning. If you know of anyone who has a child turning 5 before 31 July 2020, please tap them on the shoulder and give them our school number. I would be more than happy to speak with them.
Have a lovely week everyone.
Blessings
Jannine
“Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus” - June 19 2020
The Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is a liturgical feast celebrated on the Friday after Corpus Christi. The devotion to the heart of Jesus has Christ’s unconditional love at its centre, exemplified in the blood and water which poured forth from Christ’s heart in his sacrifice on the cross.
Pope Francis encouraged Catholics to discover the riches of charity hidden in the heart of Christ.
“Friday we will celebrate the solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Do not be afraid to present to him all the intentions of our suffering humanity, its fears, its miseries. May this Heart, full of love for men, give everyone hope and trust,” Pope Francis. (June 17 in the Vatican’s Apostolic Palace.)
“I invite you to discover the riches that are hidden in the Heart of Jesus, to learn to love your neighbor.
Mass will be celebrated at St Mary's Church on
Sunday 5th & 19th July.
There will be NO Liturgies or morning teas until restrictions are lifted.
This is our message stick for inclusion on the Catholic Education NAIDOC cross for the NAIDOC Mass this year, which is postponed now until November.

It goes without saying that the last six months have been unusual and challenging times. Often the anxiety that children experience may be demonstrated in numerous behaviours. It’s important that we seek to understand these behaviours, as there could be something beneath the surface. You might find this resource useful, especially when you are reflecting on your child with their classroom teacher next week.

We all had a wonderful afternoon and are working hard to gain out next reward when we get to 10 gold tokens.
