Dear Parents and Carers,
It has been a lovely opportunity to be back with the St Mary’s school community. The students and staff have been very welcoming and it has been wonderful to catch up with everyone. There have certainly been some positive changes around the school. Lovely to see the new windows in the K/1 and 2/3/4 room and the extra space for the students to work in.
To conclude Term 3 there are a number of special activities on this week…………..
Year 5/6 headed off early this morning on their exciting class excursion to Beechworth. We wish them a wonderful time away and a great opportunity to learn about the history of the area especially in relation to the infamous bushranger, Ned Kelly.
School Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 12pm as well as a writing publication celebration to be held.
Term 4 resumes on Monday 14th October. Wishing everyone a restful and happy holiday.
Looking forward to hearing about Mrs Richards adventures when she returns for next term.
Best wishes,
Christine Baron
We are almost to the end of this term! The rain has been such a welcome relief, our prayers have been answered. Last weekend’s Gospel reminds us how important our prayers are. We need to keep the well-being of all citizens in our prayers, civil leaders as well that they act justly in their work for the broader human society.
A reminder that we will celebrate our writing publication with a Mass at 12:00 noon with Miss Buckmaster and the 2/3/4 Class this Thursday 26th September. The children will be showcasing their writing publications to the school community. Bring your sandwich and join us on the oval for a picnic lunch.
Seasons of Growth is a programme for children, young people or adults who have experienced significant change or loss in their lives. The feelings centred around change are normal and are often fought against as we don’t realise that they are normal. If you are interested in your child being part of this program could you contact the school for further information.
Thank you to parents who have indicated they would like to know more about this program. I will be in touch with you this week.
We have some exciting activities for Mission Month nearly next term. Does your child have a plain white t-shirt that I can have to dye during the school break? If they do please send it in with your child’s name on it before the end of term.
I hope you all have a well earned break from the routine of the term. I am spending most of my mine with my grandchildren; see you Thursday at 12:00 noon.
We continue to bloom and grow at St. Marys

REC
Last Friday, K/1 held their class assembly. They worked very hard in the weeks leading up to it to bring the St Mary's community some items that incorporated some of their learning this term. K/1 have been learning about the importance of being yourself and being proud of who you are. This was encapsulated in a movie created by the students of K/1, called 'This is Me.' They then performed a singing and acting routine that involved drama techniques and a focus on rhyming words. K/1 had a wonderful time and I am so proud of the effort they put into their assembly items. Thank you to all parents and family members that were able to come to the assembly. The students were so excited to see so many familiar faces.
