- THOUGHT OF THE WEEK
Hello Parents and Carers,
Last week Elizabeth Sullivan represented St Mary’s as part of the Western Region Cross Country Team in the Archdiocesan Cross Country Carnival held at Mt Stromlo in Canberra. In a very strong field EJ came in 9th. This is an outstanding achievement and valuable experience for her.
Also outstanding is the wonderful play that happens on our playground every day. Our students get along happily on the majority of occasions and I see such a variety of games and cooperative play. We have trialled removing playground rosters for the court, playground equipment and the oval for the past fortnight. Students voted last week to continue with no rosters allowing students more choices in where they play.
Last week, Matt Sexton, our Numeracy Consultant, visited our school for the second time this year to work with our students and teachers in K/1 and Year 2/3/4. This Thursday, Chris Higgins Senior Officer in Numeracy with Catholic Education will be visiting St Mary’s to work with Year 5/6. Next week, Kaye Lowe will be with us on Monday and Tuesday to work with students and teachers in Literacy. This is top quality professional development that comes to us! We are certainly very lucky and teachers appreciate watching demonstration lessons with their classes.
This weekend our students are invited to present the liturgy at Mass, Sunday at 8:30am. Please know that all are welcome and there is a cuppa and morning tea following Mass.
Have a lovely week everyone,
Jannine
Don't forget the Children's Mass THIS Sunday 16th June at 8am in St Mary's church. We would love to see everyone at this Mass as Children's Liturgy only occurs once per term.
If you would like your child to participate in the Mass ie: Reading, Offertry etc, Mrs Saunderson need to know by this Thursday.
