As we enter the second week of Lent, we encourage our school community to focus on kindness, gratitude, and generosity. Lent is a time to reflect on how we can support others—whether through small acts of kindness, giving to those in need, or simply being more mindful in our daily lives. By making positive choices and helping others, we grow in compassion and prepare our hearts for the joy of Easter.
Parent Teacher Conferences
Next week, we look forward to welcoming families to school for Parent Teacher Conferences. A booking schedule has been set on Compass and parents are now able to log in via Compass and book a time. We would like all parents to make time to meet with their classroom teacher. If the booking time slots don’t suit or you are unable to access Compass bookings, please contact your child's teacher.
School Mass
Next weekend, we have our School Mass. This is a great opportunity for us to once again gather as a community. We are very appreciative of the role Father Joe and our parishioners play in supporting our school and ask that regardless of families being Catholic or not, we try and make some time to attend these celebrations. Mass is at 5pm on Sunday 23rd March and if your child is able to take on a role (reading, bringing up the offertory), please reach out to Mrs Dumbrell.
Student Representative Council
This week students voted on our student representative council members from their classes. Phillip and Brodie will lead these students today in their first meeting. Part of the student representative council role will be discussing ideas (from a student perspective) that will help improve our school. I would like to congratulate Jackson, Landon, Naarah and Hunter on being selected for this role. I know you are in good hands with Phillip and Brodie’s leadership. We will re-elect new members to our SRC in Semester Two.

The second week of Lent
This week, on our Lentern journey, I would like to focus on Hope. Pope Francis writes;
“Let us journey together in hope, for we have been given a promise. May the hope that does not disappoint(cf.Rom5:5), the central message of the Jubilee,[5]be the focus of our Lenten journey towards the victory of Easter.
Sisters and brothers, thanks to God’s love in Jesus Christ, we are sustained in the hope that does not disappoint (cf.Rom5:5). Hope is the “sure and steadfast anchor of the soul”.[8]It moves the Church to pray for “everyone to be saved” (1 Tim2:4) and to look forward to her being united with Christ, her bridegroom, in the glory of heaven. This was the prayer of Saint Teresa of Avila: “Hope, O my soul, hope. You know neither the day nor the hour. Watch carefully, for everything passes quickly, even though your impatience makes doubtful what is certain, and turns a very short time into a long one” (The Exclamations of the Soul to God, 15:3).[9]
May the Virgin Mary, Mother of Hope, intercede for us and accompany us on our Lenten journey.
At this time, I would also like to offer a prayer of healing for those who are suffering from illness and a prayer for Pope Francis as he continues his ong battle with illness.
Loving and Merciful God,
We pray before You, lifting up Your servant, Pope Francis, in his time of need. You are the Source of all healing, and we ask You to surround him with Your loving presence, granting him strength and recovery. May Your divine grace rest upon him, restoring his health and filling him with renewed vigor to continue leading Your Church with compassion and wisdom.
“But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord.”
(Jeremiah 30:17)
We place Pope Francis into Your hands, trusting in Your eternal care. May he be comforted by the love of the Church and the prayers of all the faithful. Through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we ask that his recovery be swift and his spirit be strengthened in Your peace. May Your will be done in his life, O Lord, and may Your healing power be with him always.
We offer this prayer in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

K/1/2 had a lovely visit to the Batlow Hospital on Tuesday where they perfromed two songs and coloured in with the Residents. They also walked through the hospital with Lizzy's Ma to deliver some of their creations to the residents.
