As we journey through Lent, we’re reminded that this season isn’t just about giving something up—it’s about giving more of ourselves. While traditional almsgiving remains important, Lent calls us to deeper personal reflection and action. This can mean offering more patience, kindness, and time to those around us, especially in our families, schools, and communities.
In today’s fast-paced world, true sacrifice might look like putting away distractions to be more present, listening with compassion, or serving others with a generous heart. By focusing on these daily acts of love, we embrace the true spirit of Lent—not just in what we give up, but in what we give of ourselves.
Thank you
With the above thought in mind, I want to thank Miss Collins and our Year 6 leaders for providing pancakes for our students on Shrove Tuesday, Mrs Dumbrell for organising our Mass and to Father Joe allowing a St Mary’s Mass on Ash Wednesday. We are very appreciative.
Congratulations
It is with great joy that I share my congratulations to Amara, Crystal and Reece on the birth of Zaylie. Some of us have been fortunate enough to meet Zaylie and not only do we look forward to further visits at school but also hope that she brings Amara and her family great joy in this special time.
Cross Country
We have a very busy Term One schedule when it comes to sport. Our school cross country is on Thursday 27th March and we will once again host the Western Region cross country on Friday 2nd May (Term Two). As part of this, I will be taking interested students from Year 2 - 6 to Memorial Park on Mondays to practice for this event. We may also do some running at school for our younger students that are keen to train for this event.
Enjoy the remainder of the week. I encourage families to continue speaking with their children about ‘daily acts of love’ and the positive impact these actions can have on others.
