In Mark’s Gospel, it mentions that Jesus “did not come to be served, but to serve.” I’d like to think that the idea of ‘service’ is encouraged to be at the forefront of our students' minds. And, while there are times that we forget or make mistakes (nobody is perfect!), the past few weeks have been a living example of our students’ ability to show kindness and be of service in small, meaningful ways.
From supporting our 2025 Kinder students at transition days and taking part in Remembrance Day commemorations to participating in our Children's Mass and our Working Bee, it has been greatly appreciated. Our students have represented the school with pride and positively engaged in aspects of school life that look beyond our own individual needs. We are all very proud.
Kira Pendergast - Safe on Social Presentation (PLEASE CONSIDER!)
On Thursday December 5, schools in the Western Region have organised online safety information sessions with Kira Pendergast. I can’t stress how beneficial these sessions are for students, staff and families. Kira will be available via Zoom/Teams Meeting (online) and I am happy to host our families at school so they want to access these sessions. The school will pay for this experience.

Working Bee
An enormous thank you to the families that contributed to our school working bee. The gardens are looking excellent and our students will enjoy upkeeping these plants and spending time in the revamped vegetable garden!
Thanks again families - enjoy the remainder of the week,
Ryan
This term is moving quickly, and I can’t believe we are already at the end of week 5! Firstly, a big thank you to all families who came along last weekend to our Parish and Children’s Mass it was a wonderful celebration. The gardens and school grounds look wonderful after the working bee on Sunday after Mass.
We have a few events coming up this term, including our school awards day. Our K-2 students will perform a nativity play at this ceremony, which will be accompanied by some wonderful songs from our other classes. This will be a great opportunity for our students to perform for their families as well as to celebrate the Advent period before Christmas.
St Mary’s will again participate in the St Vincent De Paul Christmas hamper appeal this year. This is a time to reflect on those less fortunate than others and families are invited to please give generously at this time. A basket will be available in each classroom for donations of non-perishable food items or children's Christmas gifts. If you are going to wrap the gift, could you please clarify whether the gift is for a boy or a girl and what age the gift would suit? I have attached a list of ideas for the appeal to this newsletter.
Have a wonderful weekend!
