Last Day of Term 3
Next week, the last day for students will be Thursday 26th September. Staff will be in different locations in the Archdiocese completing professional learning.
School Uniform
As of Week 10, students are able to wear their Summer or Winter uniform. There will be a transition time while we get a mixture of warmer and cooler days. Early in Term Four, I will again notify families of the change to Summer uniform only. Please ensure it is Summer or Winter uniform and not a combination of them both.
Home Reading
Home reading is not only an activity that supports one of our Catholic Education Canberra Goulburn goals, that every child is a competent reader, but it is also an excellent way to develop new vocabulary, for parents to be involved in their child’s learning and a great pre-bedtime routine. I want to continue encouraging families to support their children with this routine. If your child isn’t bringing home any reading, needs some ‘tricky words’ to practise or needs some books that connect with their interest, please reach out to your child’s teacher or our wonderful librarian, Mrs Murray!
CWA Grants
This week, I had contact from Tina Billings of the Country Women’s Association. The CWA Phillip Group raises funds to support country children with school costs such as uniforms, excursions and equipment, along with other extra curricular activities such as sport and arts. Tina has set aside two dates (Friday 25th and Monday 28th October) to confidentially meet in the CWA Rooms by appointment to assist families of Batlow with these applications. If families would like to book an appointment or have any concerns, questions or would like apply for a grant but can’t make those dates, Tina’s contact information is below:
Mobile: 0412 831 419

We are looking forward to working with students and families over the final days of term.
Enjoy your weekend

The Year of the Holy Spirit has emphasised the importance of listening, dialogue, discernment, and creating a community guided by the Spirit. The focus is on growth, journeying together and responding to the needs of one another is also an important aspect of our learnings from this focus for the church. Below is the Prayer to the Holy Spirit for the Archdiocese.
PRAYER FOR THE HOLY SPIRIT
O God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit,
did instruct the hearts of the faithful,
Grant that by the same Holy Spirit
we may be truly wise and ever rejoice in his consolations.
Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen
St Mary of the Cross McKillop, pray for us
Our Lady help of Christians, pray for us.
Next term, our Children’s Mass will be on Sunday 10th November (Week 4) at 8.30am. We ask that families lock this date into their calendars and come join us for the last Children’s Mass for the year!
