Hello,
What beautiful rain we have had over the past week! It has kept students inside on numerous occasions but I doubt anyone is really complaining. Our playground is recovering from our harsh summer already.
Unfortunately, the rain, and the current field conditions at the Batlow Showground, have led us to postpone the Athletics Carnival until Wednesday 8 May (Term 2, Week 2). Some events will be held ahead of the date. e.g. long jump and shot put.
Still on the subject of sports, our Cross Country event will be held next Monday, 8 April at the Batlow Golf Course. All students will be participating, including K/1. Students 8 years and older who finish in the top five places for their age group, will be invited to represent St Mary's at the Western Region Carnival in Harden/ Murrumburrah on Friday 3 May (Term 2, Week 1)
I hope all parents will respond to the survey, emailed yesterday regarding school lunch orders from Term 2 onwards. Batlow Technology School's canteen will no longer be able to provide lunch orders for our students. We thank BTS for their support over the past years in providing our students this convenient option for lunch. So we need to move on and consider the options most suitable and achievable for our students and their families. Please have surveys submitted back to us by Monday 8 April so that Community Council can make any necessary arrangements for the beginning of Term 2.
Finally, this Friday we are having a K-6 Assembly in which each class will present an item to the school showcasing what they have been doing this term. All parents and friends are warmly welcome to attend. The assembly will be in our library starting at 1:45pm.
Have a lovely week everyone. Jannine
