Dear Parents and Carers,
It is hard to believe we are already halfway through Term 1 for 2024! What a fantastic start we have had to our year with wonderful learning programs underway and the opportunity for great friendships on our playground.
Last week, Mr Forsyth tasked students to ‘look for the small things’ to be grateful for each day. Each morning more and more hands now pop up as students have begun to see those little moments to be truly grateful for in our days. Even James (Year 5) said on Tuesday morning that he was grateful to “wake up today!” and I couldn’t agree more!
The practice of gratitude is said to have direct links with greater happiness, our health and our way of dealing with things that arise. It has been lovely to see the students engaging in this practice this week. This may be something you might like to practise with your children each night before bed by asking them ‘What was your favourite (or top 3 things) thing about today?’ and sharing yours as well.
NAPLAN
Next week, NAPLAN will commence for Year 3 and Year 5. Miss Collins has been preparing students with online practise sessions and logging in to ensure a smooth start. We wish them all the best.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Amy Buckmaster
Acting Principal
How lucky were we to have had an extra day of the year last Thursday to then leap straight into the season of Autumn, one of the most beautiful times of the year in Batlow!
On my picturesque drive to Batlow each day, I am already seeing that the colours of the trees have begun to turn around town and are becoming vibrant in different ways to Summer. I always love the beginning of a new season, the promise of change and the opportunity to embrace new things.
What do you enjoy about Autumn the most?
Let us pray,
Easter Story
In the lead up to Easter, St Mary’s will be learning about the story of Easter and ultimately Jesus’ death and resurrection. Students at St Mary’s will be participating in an activity that requires a shoe box.
Do you have any spare boxes at home that you could donate to us??
Please send them in with your child if you are able. I would be so grateful.
Many thanks in advance!
Have a lovely week everyone.
