Dear Parents,
The final weeks of the school year are always busy!
This week Yr 3/4/5/6 are in Canberra on their overnight excursion. Updates have been placed on Facebook for parents who follow us there.
Week 9
Next week is our two major traditions for the end of the year:
- Monday 4 December 6pm-Awards Evening Literary Institute
- Thursday 7 December Thanksgiving/Graduation Mass 10am St Mary’s Church
All parents and students are expected to be at the Award Evening which showcases achievement for the 2023. Please be seated by 6pm. All students need to be in full SUMMER school uniform.
Staffing 2023 Update
Next year staffing is nearly finalised. Classroom teachers are:
- K/1/2 Ms Buckmaster
- 3/4 Ms Jackson
- 5/6 Ms Sarah Collins
- Library Ms Murray (Friday)
- Support Teacher Ms Hughes (Friday)
Mr Lawson and Ms Saunders will be departing St Mary’s at the end of this year. We are still advertising for an additional teacher to cover other teaching allocations. Front office staff and classroom assistants will remain familiar faces at St Mary’s and support a smooth transition for incoming Principal Ryan Forsyth.
Have a lovely week everyone.

Season of Advent
This Sunday, 3rd of December marks the beginning of the season of Advent in the Catholic Church.
Advent is a time where we anticipate and prepare for the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. It encompasses the four Sundays and weekdays leading up to the celebration of Christmas.
We celebrate Advent by putting up an Advent wreath and placing a candle each week.
The 4 candles represent hope, faith, joy and peace. Lighting the candles on the wreath symbolises the coming of light (Jesus) into the world.
Next Thursday, 7th of December we will celebrate our Year 6 students in our Thanksgiving Graduation Mass at 10am. Please know you are most welcome.
Christmas hamper appeal
Our baskets are starting to fill up and I thank families for their generous contributions so far. I will be happy to accept donations right up until next Thursday morning (7th Dec) so that we may gift St Vincent De Paul our baskets after Mass.
A special week ahead.
Have a blessed week everyone.

SCIENCE - YEAR 5/6 WITH MS SAUNDERS!!
Students have been using models to help in their understanding of the Earth’s tectonic plates.
We have been studying how the movement at the boundaries between these plates create earthquakes, volcanoes and mountains.
We have experimented with Oreo models, Mars Bar models and today we used whipped cream with blue dye and Cruskits!
