- QUOTE OF THE WEEK
Dear Parents,
Undoubtedly, last week was a big week for St Mary's. We were all a little tired, even the students.
But it was World Teachers' Day last Friday, 27 October! As a small staff of teachers, assistants and admin, we recognised this day with a little morning tea, quietly in our staff room. As principal, I want to acknowledge the work our staff do everyday. Their dedication, care and understanding for the students in our care is outstanding! Many arrive early. Some leave late. Some work through their breaks. They wear many hats as educators: first aiders, coaches, resource makers, researchers, motivators, listeners and the list goes on. They cover duties when needed and help each other as needed, even when it cuts into their lunch break. We each have our own strengths and talents that, when combined, make this learning environment a balanced one. We are a good team and St Mary's is a happy place to come to work and learn each day. I am so very grateful to them all.
Transitions in November
On a short note two cohorts have a big day tomorrow. Our new Kinders for 2024 will be with us in the morning and then every Friday during November. Welcome to Lizzie, Amara, Charlotte, Elira, Ari and Bobby. Our Year 6 students, Lacey, Morgan and Nace, head to McAuley in Tumut tomorrow for their second transition day. All other students K-5 will be moving 'up' during Friday transition mornings to experience their new class group for 2024. An exciting time ahead.
Have a lovely week everyone.
Jannine
All Saints Day - 1st November
All Saints Day is a special day within the Catholic Church that is dedicated to honour and commemorate the saints. All Saints Day - 1st November
Let us pray that God will open our eyes and hearts to serving Jesus in each other. May our care for one another be a sign of the oneness we share in Christ with all the saints. We pray to the Lord… Amen

All Souls Day - 2nd November
Today during Whole School Prayer, we acknowledged All Souls Day with a central focus of remembering loved one’s. Students were invited to write down or draw a family member or family friend that has passed.
We added them to our prayer space and spent some time in reflection of the light that they brought to our lives.
To continue the remembrance of our loved ones, you might like to have a conversation with your child tonight. Some questions you could ask to prompt sharing with your child might be:
How does your loved one who passed still live on in your life?
How did your loved one make you feel?
How can you honour the memory of your loved one?
K/1/2 Mass
Year K/1/2 will present Mass next Thursday, 9th November in our St Mary’s Church at 12:15pm. All parents, family and friends are welcome to attend. We hope to see you there.
Year 5/6 have been exploring “changes in our World”. They started by examine where ‘our wirld’ us … all the way from a satellite image of their home to our place at the edge of the galaxy.
Then they investigated the changes in our solar system from the day of the birth to Tuesday’s class. Today they out together a timeline if the history of our plant and the changes it has gone through over 4.5 billion years.
