Dear Parents,
And we are nearly there in our final countdown to our celebrations this Sunday and Monday. We will have many guests and special visitors but the most important people on the day are your children. This is their day and the culmination of 100 days of celebrating and 100 years in the making. It is going to be a special time for all of us. We want you to join us too! Please come along for one or all of the events planned.
Final details in brief are:
SUNDAY:
9:30 to 11:30am:
- All parents, families and students are welcome to walk through the school and look at the displays and changes that have been made.
12:00 onwards:
- Luncheon at the Batlow RSL (ticketed event)
MONDAY:
10am -12am:
- Re enactment of the three Josephite sisters arriving in Batlow on horse and cart
- Mass
- Tree Commemoration
- Morning tea
We ask that parents send in some morning tea this Monday morning eg slices, biscuits, or a cake, for our students, guests and visitors. We would really appreciate it. Teachers are cooking as well and making sandwiches and there will be 100 cupcakes for all to enjoy!
On another note, we will welcome Fr Richard Thompson, the Vicar General of Education to St Mary's on Monday to lead us in Mass. Fr Richard led the pilgrimage I went on last April with many principal's from our archdiocese. On that pilgrimage we visited a school in Bethlehem on the West Bank in Jerusalem. I pray for the students and teachers of this small school, a school a similar size to St Mary's, that they are safe.
