Dear Parents,
It has been a busy term and an enjoyable one. Student progress is a joy to witness as a teacher and we are very proud of our students. They deserve the upcoming holiday particularly to recover from lingering coughs and colds that continue to affect attendance.
Family Sports Afternoon
Thank you to all the parents and students who came along to our friendly sports competition yesterday afternoon. In all our interviews with past students, the game of Rounders was mentioned again and again as being popular. The House Trophy went to Hovell! Thank you for Mrs Murray, Mrs Dobbie & Mrs Brown for cooking the BBQ!
Hume and Hovell
Our sports teams are named after two explorers who came through our region in 1824, Hamilton Hume and William Hovell. They traversed the Blue Mountain range from Sydney and headed south looking for potential grazing land and water supply. In their journals they recorded seeing the swollen Murrumbidgee River.
Holidays
School will finish for Term 3 tomorrow and resume for students Tuesday 10 October. Have a safe and wonderful break from school routines. Next term will be our big final count down to our 100th Birthday Celebration.
Jannine
We are well on our way into Spring now which has been a lovely change to our environment and general mood, knowing that warmer weather is on its way. There is something so refreshing about seeing the trees blossoming, the flowers blooming and the sun shining!
It was wonderful to be able to share the family fun afternoon with so many of you yesterday, embracing the spring sunshine. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
Like the new buds, we here at St Mary’s continue to grow in faith, knowledge and friendship, with spring reminding us of our great learning achievements and how special our St Mary’s community is.
Spring holidays are here! Whatever you may be doing and wherever you may be, I hope it is filled with joy and sunshine.
Wishing you all a happy and safe break.
I look forward to seeing you in Term 4 ready for our 100 year celebrations!
