Dear Parents,
It has been a truly lovely week of perfect spring weather. However, many staff and students remain unwell. We request that parents keep their children at home if they are experiencing cold/flu like symptoms. Classes have been combined as staff have required leave as well. Parents are requested to submit an explanation for your child being absent which can be easily done via the Parent Portal. Your assistance with this matter is appreciated.
100th Birthday Celebration
Thank you for supporting our Fun Disco event last Friday evening. It was a chance for the children to party. Our next event is aimed at families and will be held here at school Wednesday 20 September. Starting at 4pm parents and students are invited to a game of ‘Rounders’ in our House groups. Rounders has been a well loved game here at St Mary’s for many, many years. We will divide up into our House Teams and play for the House Trophy. This will be a great memory of celebration for our students. We will follow this up with a BBQ - Sausage Sandwich. We hope to see you here!
Term Dates
Please note that Term 3 will finish Friday 22 September. Term 4 will commence for students Tuesday 10 October. Staff will be attending a Staff Development Day Monday 9 October on NSW ‘New’ Syllabus documents in English and Maths.
Have a lovely week everyone.

St Mary’s Feast day
Tomorrow, 8th of September is a special day for our school as we celebrate the life of our patron saint, Saint Mary.
Mary is honoured around the world as the ‘Mother of God’, she was a gift from God to bear the child who would bring peace to the world and did so humbly, living a life free from sin.
The 8th of September is known as the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, or otherwise known as the day of Mary’s birth. Therefore we celebrate her for the joy she was to bring to the world by giving birth to Jesus.
To celebrate, our day will consist of a liturgy at 12:30pm in our St Mary’s parish church, followed by a luncheon ‘feast’ where we will gather to enjoy our lunch together. During the afternoon we will come together to play some activities, remembering how blessed we are to be together here at St Mary's Primary in Batlow.
Children’s Mass
Just a reminder that Mass is hosted by students of St Mary’s this Sunday at 8:30am. Thank you to those who have volunteered to participate. If you would like your child to be involved on Sunday, please let me know amy.buckmaster@cg.catholic.edu.au
Have a blessed week everyone!!
