Sacraments
Yesterday afternoon, 2 students; Jessica and Theo, attended their first sacramental preparation lesson for First Holy Communion. Their first lesson covered the symbolism of the ‘bread of life’ during Mass and its significance in the sacrament they are about to receive.
We wish the children many blessings over the coming weeks as they prepare to receive their sacrament on Thursday the 29th of June.
Winter
Today we welcome the official beginning of the winter season. A time to snuggle up and enjoy time inside with family. What do you enjoy most about the Winter season?
To welcome the season of Winter, we pray…
Dear God,
In the midst of Winter, when the days are cold and wind can pierce,
remind us of the warmth of your love.
In the midst of Winter, when days are short, dawn comes late, and dusk arrives early,
remind us that in the darkness your light still shines.
In the midst of Winter, when the flowers of spring still lie hidden in the earth, when leaves are off the trees, and the world can seem bleak,
remind us that Spring is but a short time away.
And when in our lives we feel as if we are experiencing a season of Winter, reach out to us with the power of your resurrection so that we may feel the warmth of your love and see your light that alone can take away the darkness of our soul.
O God, our heavenly Father, preserve those who travel (through snow and on ice); surround them with your loving care; protect them from every danger; and bring them in safety to their journey's end; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen
Throwback to our first day of Winter 2022 when we had a beautiful snowfall.
Have a lovely week everyone.
