Western Region Athletics Carnival
Eight students headed to Cootamundra last Thursday to represent St Mary’s: Ethan, Lucas, Morgan, Jack, Ruby, Phillip, Hunter and Theo performed well and achieved personal bests in their individual events on the day. Although the weather was better in Cootamundra than in Batlow on the day, the students were full of energy and had a great time. A big thank you to parents for assisting with transport, and Ms Collins and Mrs Brown for coordinating and supervising on the day.
Confirmation
A big congratulations to our students Emily, Ethan, Thomas and Nace, who received the Sacrament of Confirmation last Thursday evening with Fr George and other candidates. It was a proud moment for them, their sponsors and their families.
Have a lovely week everyone.
Jannine
Last Thursday, Ethan, Emily, Nace and Thomas had a very special evening in Tumut where they received the Sacrament of Confirmation along with many other children in our local parishes.
The Sacrament of Confirmation is the last sacrament they will receive as school students. Confirmation completes Baptism, by which in the laying on of hands by Father George and the anointing with Chrism Oil, which first happened at Baptism, they are confirmed with the gifts and fullness of the Holy Spirit. This strengthens their relationship with God and the mission of Jesus.
It was a lovely Mass celebrated with family and friends.
Many thanks to Father George and Anita Mason for presenting such a special evening and preparing the students for their Sacrament.
Here are some happy snaps to mark the occasion.
Winter Appeal
This Friday, we are hosting our ‘Vinnie’s Winter Appeal’ by bringing in donations, wearing our Winter Woollies and enjoying a hot chocolate.
There have been some lovely donations in the baskets in our foyer so far, so thank you. Any donation, big or small is greatly appreciated.
On a final note for this week, Children’s Mass will be presented by St Mary’s this Sunday, 25th June at 8:30am at our St Mary’s church. Please let me know if you can attend so I can give your child a special role. It would be lovely to have students involved.
Have a wonderful week,
Amy Buckmaster - Religious Education Coordinator
Congratulations to Emily, Nace, Thomas and Ethan on receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation Thursday night. It was a very special evening filled with many blessings.

STUDENT OF THE WEEK - WEEK 8
Our Year 6 had Year 7 Orientation at McAuley on Friday, and met up with some old friends from St Mary's and made some new ones.
Buddy reading between our oldest and youngest students is done most afternoons. It is a perfect session to build relationships and share literature all at the same time.
