Dear Parents,
Our Swimming Carnival was held last Friday and I extend a big congratulations to Hume House on winning the overall points competition and the Age Champions, Senior - Ethan and Amara, Intermedite - Dylan and Morgan, Junior - Phillip and Callee Bree as well. The weather was on the coolish side so it was a credit to all students for participating and doing their individual best on the day. The next level of competition will be in Lake Cargellico Thursday 24 February. I will be in touch with parents of the students who have qualified to see if they wish to nominate their child.
Annual Improvement Plan
This year our teaching and learning goals continue to emphasise teaching quality and using student data to inform our practice. Specifically our three goals to improve student outcomes are:
- use data to inform teaching programs and pedagogy.
- promote teacher efficacy in using High Impact Teaching Practices.
- build content knowledge in RE and other KLA’s.
The Annual Improvement Plan is a significant school document which is the roadmap to provide strategic direction for the year. The AIP 2022 will be on our school website for viewing and after it has been shared with Community Council executive.
Staffing
Some omissions from last week's staff list are: (and they will never let me forget it!)
- Librarian Elizabeth Murray
- Classroom Support Teacher Justine Hughes
- Music and School Welfare Officer Deborah Wild
Have a lovely week everyone.
Jannine
What a busy yet wonderful beginning to 2022 we have had! On reflection of our first week back I felt nothing but grateful. I am grateful for the staff here at St Mary’s who support each other; grateful to our St Mary’s parents for their continuous understanding and most of all; grateful to our beautiful students who constantly bring smiles to my face and to those around them.
I journaled these 3 things on Saturday morning as I woke up with such a grateful heart.
Taking time to acknowledge what we are grateful for has many benefits for our mental health, whether you practice gratitude in prayer, journaling, telling others often, smiling with your thoughts or meditation.
What 3 things are you grateful for today?
Have a blessed week everyone.
