Dear parents,
Our school calendar has been cleared again due to the remote mode of learning. The NSW government’s announcement that the staggered return of students would not start until 25 October caught us all by surprise last week. Let us hope and pray that our council area will be allowed to return to face to face learning earlier than that date due to no transmission across our local government area.
In the meantime your children’s safety, welfare and education are our highest priority. We will continue to offer one mode of learning for students whether they are at school or at home. Students who cannot be at home with an adult will be supervised here at school with a skeleton staff rotating on site.
I encourage parents to support the daily schedule teachers have developed for your child/ren. MS Teams sessions are designed to do 2 things:
- Offer a wellbeing check in to connect with teachers and classmates.
- Continue teaching and learning programs.
Even though our daily schedule is more relaxed than our normal school day, it provides a structure that students are all very familiar with. Please keep to the day as much as possible and make sure work is returned for checking on Friday afternoons when we re issue paper packs. We are here to help if you need further support. Please do not hesitate to email or phone.
However, if you need to pause and change the program for a variety of reasons please know that is ok too! You are the best person to judge the day and what will work best for you as a family unit. Cooking, creating, painting, drawing, walking, running, meditating, swinging etc are all valuable activities especially when you’re away from a screen.
Everyone is doing the best they can, at this point in time.
Many thanks
Jannine
