Dear Parents,
It was certainly lovely to have some sunshine over the weekend! Our playground has suffered with the consistent rain but we are lucky to have our court and concrete surfaces for some outside games.
This week I am requesting that parents download the Compass School Manager app as we start to transition to Compass instead of Schoolszine. Details are located on the visual guide. It is hoped that all parents complete the download over the next fortnight. If you have any queries please do not hesitate to ask myself or Ms Marsh.

Remote Learning Preparation
Thank you to all parents who have responded to the survey regarding their household capability to move to remote learning. Please complete the form via the link if you have not already done so. Remote Learning Survey.
This preparation is only in case our local government area is placed into lockdown following NSW Government and Health advice. This can happen suddenly as we have seen in the Hunter and Armidale regions over the past week.
To assist in preparation parents are asked to download the MS Team app on their devices at home. Students will use the one login to MS Teams and can then access Google classroom or See Saw from there. It is an easy and user friendly site. Student details to login will be provided by classroom teachers. Catholic Education choose MS Teams as it is deemed a safer site for students when working online. If you have any queries please do not hesitate to ask. We aim to provide paper packs for all students, in addition to online support should remote learning occur in our local government area.

Most parents will already know that teachers are mandatory reporters and are required by law to report to the Department of Community and Justice if they suspect a child is at risk of harm. As principal it is also my responsibly to inform and remind parents and our community of this responsibility.
Our policy states:
Mandated Reporter is defined in S 27 Children and Young Person (Care and Protection) Act 1998 (NSW). For the purposes of this policy and compliance with NSW law, a mandated reporter includes those who in the course of paid employment deliver education or other children's services to children.
Risk of Harm a child or young person is "at risk of harm" if current concerns exist for the safety, welfare or well-being of the child or young person because of the presence of any one or more of the following circumstances:
(a) the child's or young person's basic physical or psychological needs are not being met or are at risk of not being met;
(b) the parents or other caregivers have not arranged and are unable or unwilling to arrange for the child or young person to receive necessary medical care;
(c) the child or young person has been, or is at risk of being, physically or sexually abused or ill-treated;
(d) the child or young person is living in a household where there have been incidents of domestic violence and, as a consequence, the child or young person is at risk of serious physical or psychological harm;
(e) a parent or other caregiver has behaved in such a way towards the child or young person that the child or young person has suffered or is at risk of suffering serious psychological harm.

Have a lovely week everyone
