Dear Parents,
Welcome to week 4
An important item to start the newsletter this week is that our communication through Schoolszine will be changing. Schoolszine has been a simple and very effective way to keep parents up to date with school events and news. We are as a system now moving to a new portal called Compass and all this will become operational from Term 4. Brief details are listed in the document below. The additional feature of Compass is that parents will access students semester reports online as of Term 4. More details will be provided over the coming weeks as to how you can gain access to the Compass parent portal.
Parent_Portal_Info_Sheet_Parents
As we trasnsition to Compass, we need to have all details up to date. Information Checklist were sent home today with your child. Could you please check that all information is correct and send back to school ASAP even if there are no changes to be made.
The Olympics
This week we celebrated with our Australian Olympians with some fun events led by our Yr 6 students. The students in Year 5/6 have also been researching Australian athletes and all classes are keeping a medal tally. We are very keenly following the events over in Tokyo. Aussie, Aussie, Aussie!
Jeans for Genes Day
Jeans for Genes Day is a special day happening this Friday 6 August. Students are invited to come dressed in their jeans, or mufti clothes, and support the cause with a gold coin donation. All funds will be collected for medical research into genetic related conditions. Ms Rachel Galvin will be cooking a special cupcake for each student to also to mark this special day. Thanks Rachel!
Remote Learning Preparation
If you have not already done so could you please update the information in regard to your household’s capacity to support remote learning with your own devices and also access to the internet via the form below. If you do not have devices we aim to provide hard copies/worksheets and other materials to support students in their learning if we do happen to move to remote learning.

Jannine
Ever generous God,
You inspired Saint Mary MacKillop
To live her life faithful to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and constant in
bringing hope and encouragement
to those who were disheartened, lonely or needy.
With confidence in your generous providence and through the
intercession of Saint Mary MacKillop
We ask that you grant our requests.
We ask that our faith and hope be fired afresh by the Holy Spirit so
that we too, like Mary MacKillop, may live with courage, trust and
openness.
Ever generous God hear our prayer.
We ask this through Jesus Christ. Amen.
Mary MacKillop - Pray For Us.
Amen.
This term Year 3 to 6 students have commenced Code Club and have been thoroughly enjoying it!
Today’s young people will work, live and play in a world that is increasingly digital. They’ll require skills to solve problems that don’t exist yet, they’ll become changemakers that build new solutions and community members of an unrecognisable globalised planet.
They might become coders, but they might also be data analysts, teachers, social media collaborators, CEOs, lawyers or activists. They’ll work in fields that don’t even exist yet! And they’ll need to know how technology works.
Coding and digital skills are fundamental for our changing future. By learning how to code, young people are building digital literacy skills for a changing world. They’re also developing valuable soft skills including logic, creativity, critical thinking, collaboration and communication.Next Tuesday ANNABELLE & HUNTER
