WR Athletics
All the best to the students who are representing our school at the Western Region Athletics Carnival this Friday in Tumut. We know our students will run, jump and throw to the best of their abilities and enjoy being part of a large carnival with other school groups. If postponed due to wet weather the back up date for the carnival is Friday 18 June.
Tell Them From Me Survey
This is the last week in which parents are able to complete the Tell Them From Me (TTFM) Partners in Learning survey. As we value the role of parents and carers within our school community, we would greatly appreciate your feedback. The information you provide will be used to maintain our commitment to working together in partnership to further improve student learning and wellbeing at SMB. Please complete the survey even if you are happy with our lovely school.
The survey will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. You are able to access the parent survey on your computer or mobile device. Parent Survey Link
Have a lovely warm week everyone.

3/4 Class Mass
Parents and friends are invited to join us for the 3/4 Class Mass this Thursday 10th June at 10am. We hope to see you there!
Winter Appeal
On Monday 21st June, St Mary’s will be holding a Winter Appeal to support St Vincent’s De Paul. The Vinnies Winter Appeal provides emergency relief to people at risk and experiencing homelessness. Your donation and support will help ensure that families at risk of homelessness get the financial and emotional support they need to keep themselves and their children safe.
Particularly in these colder months we ask for:
v Blankets
v Jackets
v Jumpers
v Warm Gloves and Socks
v Canned goods
These donations then go directly to people in need in our community or sold at the Vinnies Centre to generate funds for other forms of assistance like case management and assistance with utility bills.
Students will also be invited to come dressed in warm winter woollies and enjoy a delicious hot chocolate. They will also participate in activities that raise awareness for advocacy for those less fortunate than ourselves, particularly the homeless.

CHECK YOUR CHILD'S BAG - TICKETS WENT HOME TODAY
Did you know that there is approximately 500,000 earthquakes each year worldwide?
Year 5/6 have been learning about earthquakes and the importance of earthquake proof buildings in countries that lie on the boundary of a techtonic plate. We created a model using blocks and lego to model the difference between buildings that have been designed to withstand earthquakes and buildings that aren’t! Students enjoyed creating ‘earthquakes’ through shaking the table to simulate the quake!

School Photos have just arrived. We will unpack and check that all information is correct and will send home with your child tomorrow.
Please remember to label all items of uniform. As the weather is getting colder students wear coats and jumpers to school, but as the day warms up or they play sport, they take these items off and then it is hard to find the owner.
