Hello Everyone,
This week is Catholic Schools Week and the theme is Faith and Hope in the Future. We celebrate with Mass on Thursday and an Open Day on Friday. If joining us for a BBQ lunch on Friday please order your snags via the link in this newsletter, for catering purposes. We hope you will be able to join us at either one or both occasions.
Sign in/Sign Out Changes
Parents will notice that there is a new screen in our front office for parents to use when signing their students in and out of school when needed. It is easy to use and our front office staff will assist. Please remember that students arriving after 9am must be signed in by an adult and the same is expected if the student is leaving school early. This is an official requirement via NSW government legislation.
Semester One Reports
Our reporting period for this semester covers learning in Term 1 and 2. Many parents are already familiar with the format. However, due to reporting changes there will no longer be general comments on individual student reports. Parents will be, as always, offered parent teacher interviews so that teachers can talk to the report instead. Reports will be sent home Friday 11 June, and interviews will be available Wednesday and Thursday, 16 and 17 June. Interview requests will be forwarded via schoolszine in the coming weeks.
Winter Uniform
Students are to be in winter uniform now and thank you to the many parents for being on top of this. Our students look ready for the weather and comfortable for learning and playing.
Have a lovely week everyone.

Celebrating Catholic Schools Week - 3rd to 7th May
This year we celebrate 200 Years of Catholic Education in Australia, therefore the theme for our campaign is an adaptation of the national theme chosen for the anniversary celebrations ‘Faith in the Future’ with the addition of Archbishop Christopher’s focus on ‘Hope’.
The theme reflects the core purpose of Catholic education to form students in their faith and to provide an education that enables our graduates to make a meaningful contribution to the world. The theme reflects our commitment to build on the great work of those who have come before us and to provide a Catholic education for future generations in a world that is rapidly changing and poses new challenges for Catholic school communities. We look to the future with faith and hope that we can face these challenges and continue to build on and strengthen our mission of Catholic Education.
We have some special events planned for this week to celebrate Catholic Schools Week that we would love you to join us for:
Please join us to celebrate our 5/6 Mass on Thursday at 10am.
We are still looking for someone that can help us install the new ropes on the flag poles. If you can help out or know of anyone who can please phone the school.
As of this Thursday bakery lunches will return to 1pm. After our trial of 11am main lunch it has been decided that the main lunch will return to 1pm and recess will revert to 11am.
Thank you to everyone for your understanding.
Next Tuesday 11th May our radio presenters are Zayn and Ryley. Tune in to 96.3 FM Sounds of the Mountains at 1.45pm for all the news from St Mary's.
Food allergy week – Be Aware, Show you Care. 23-29 May 2021.
